The Home Stretch

Well, it's been a pretty weird week here, all things considered, with the weather freezing and icy one day, and then 60 degrees and sunny the next. (Oh, what a joy that was!)

Plus, I'm working on the final page proofs for my next book ORDINARY BEAUTY which is um, kind of dark, bittersweet, filled with longing and intense, and in between I'm still revising the YA romantic comedy I keep talking about. So I've been living on an emotional seesaw.

The pupski is still with us and making herself quite at home. She's cheerful and funny and she's scared to death of one of my cats, -- Bunny -- who is a skinny little thing and weighs maybe ten pounds dripping wet, but who has a high forehead, an ominous, stiff-legged stalk and the wild ability to scowl. This totally unnerves the dog, who has made up complicated detours to get around Bunny whenever he's in the kitchen, glaring at her. He hasn't whacked her or anything, just arched and stalked and scowled, and she surrendered to his superior force without issue.

Good old Bunny.

And even better is that February is almost over, and we're heading for March. I don't usually wish my life away -- thanks, Bonnie! -- but I am seriously looking forward to spring.
