But the fire is so delightful...
It was snowing this morning when I woke up. Pretty.
It also snowed on Thanksgiving, which I think was the last time I posted, so allow me a little bit of catch-up.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving over at my boyfriend's sister Jane's house, with delicious and abundant food and great company. (I missed my family but we'll be seeing them soon, and I can't wait.) Had a merry time playing girls-against-boys Outburst after dinner, and girls won twice. (Of course.
Went out shopping on Black Friday, which suprisingly enough was a pleasure, as the department store had fabulous deals and no crowds, and was interviewed and photographed for a newspaper doing a story on holiday shopping. Fun.
Had dinner out, spent all day Saturday shopping online, went out to hear a friend's band and dance the night away, then had a lovely, relaxed Sunday. (More shopping!)
So, it's been a week of meeting Fedex and UPS out in the driveway, hauling wood, searching for just the right gifts for my beloveds, planning the cookie-making festivities, and making New Year's Eve plans. Friday night we hauled out all of the Christmas decorations -- except for the tree stuff, as we don't have our tree yet -- put on the carols and commenced decorating. That was a blast.
I also pulled up a YA romantic comedy manuscript I have in progress, and reread it with an eye to rewriting. Happily, the male lead is still hot as anything, the heroine still good to walk with and it still makes me laugh out loud, so I'm going to dig into this one once the whole holiday extravaganza eases some. (Which means on January 3, or so.)
I'm also going to be working on the final copyedits on my next book ORDINARY BEAUTY, and that'll be coming in any day now. Plus, I still have to write my holiday cards and get them sent out, and all those other splendid things that come along this time of year. Good stuff.
And on Friday, December 10th at 9:30 a.m., I'll be speaking with the book club at the Mehoopany Library in PA, and it's free and open to the public so I hope to see you there!
