So, it rained all day and night yesterday but we stayed high and dry and didn't even lose power, which was a nice surprise. The creek is full and flowing again, and I really hope it's not temporary.

It wasn't too cold but we made a fire in the fireplace anyway because it was enough to take the chill out of the air, and then I made a big batch of latkes (potato pancakes) and fresh apples sauteed in butter and brown sugar, and had a small feast. It was a really nice night.
