Let It Rain
Rain, rain, rain. Finally.
Two of my last five Monarch chrysalises look as though they'll release butterflies today, which is not good because it's pouring and I can't release them in the chilly rain. I'll have to go out and find some flowers for them to snack on while in captivity until the sun comes out again tomorrow.
We're in a flood watch (like a good portion of the east) but I'm glad to see it. We really need the rain.
I cleaned out my writing studio yesterday, and found some of the stuff I was looking for, including this quote: "Teaching a child not to step on a caterpillar is as valuable to the child, as it is to the caterpillar." -- Bradley Miller.
I love that, and this: "Everybody is somebody else's weirdo." Yup. That's what makes life so interesting. What a dull horror it would be if everybody acted and felt exactly the same way. It would make for terrible writing, too.
So today I'm thankful for the rain and the chance to hole up in this studio surrounded by stuff I love, and think about what comes next, both writing and life-wise. And this quote, too:
"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as if everything is."
I like that.
