Putting on Miles
Today was mostly a running day.
We set out determined to solve some computer problems and astonishingly, the fixes worked. That may never happen as easily again, so I think that small moment of triumph is worth mentioning. Stopped at Red Lobster and had a nice early dinner, then did a little more shopping. It's been a decent day, and I'm still mulling over this new story idea, trying to see how -- or if -- it all fits together, who is in it and why. I wish my writing process was faster but it isn't. I have to just keep adding pieces to the pot simmering in my mind and wait to see what develops.
We've also been planning the next several weekends, and I'm excited because so far they include fun, family, the bay, a really good band and a bunch of other stuff.
It's also going to be time to bring in the houseplants soon, because our night temps are heading down into the 50s already. The days are supposed to be gorgeous but you can feel the pending chill in the air, which also means it'll be time for me to get my hands on a few cords of wood for the stove. When it comes to fall and winter I'm an ant, storing and stocking up, scurrying busily in all directions to tuck in and try to have whatever I need at hand. Not sure why but I'm thinking it's genetic. I come from a long line of ants.
Now, back to work.
