You Can't Take the Jersey Out of the Girl

Diners and Concerts.  Is it just a NJ thing or is it everywhere?

I don't know, but when you find the right diner, they're perfect together.

Yesterday was an absolute blast.

We headed out early because we had tickets to The Outlaws concert down at The Sellersville Theater 1894 and it was a decent ways away, so we figured we'd make a day of it. Fun ride, good scenery and then we hit Quakertown and were starving, and there, as big as life, was a sign for John's Plain and Fancy Diner...and it wasn't one of those wannabe diners that go all retro 50s but aren't really NJ diners, or one of those little restaurants that call themselves diners but are light years away from a real diner (can you tell I've been on a quest?) but a REAL NJ-type diner. I was so excited I almost fell out of the car scrambling to get in there.

Booths. Pastry cases. Diner salad bar. Coffee coffee coffee. A gigantic menu and, one of the biggest tests, enormous portions of good food on heavy diner plates.  **blissful sigh**

I was in heaven. Heaven, I tell you. If I could have rented out the back booth and called it a vacation home, I would have.

Anyhow, after enjoying ourselves way too much we toddled out and got back on the road, and found Sellersville without issue. A nice town with a gorgeous old theater and a Rita's Italian Ice (hello, yummy Georgia Peach gelato), got a great parking place and hung out, listening to the sound check and watching the opening band -- Citizen Band Radio -- unload, set up and chat. (Big shout out here to a very talented group, at least half from New Jersey!)

We had decent seats but every seat in that theater was decent. The Outlaws -- Henry Paul, Monte Yoho, Chris Anderson, Billy Crain, Randy Threet and Jon Coleman -- rocked that place hard, fast, intense and wild. OMG, never have I seen such a show. These guys give 1000% for every single song and knock your socks off. I'm not kidding.

You can't dance hard and fast enough to keep up. It's dazzling.

And then, as if the the night wasn't grand enough, they were gracious enough to meet and talk with everyone afterwards.

Do we look happy? Henry Paul and Monte Yoho. Thanks, guys!

Was I the one who wanted May to be a good month? Well, I have gotten my wish a thousand times over.

And lord have mercy, it isn't over yet.

Absolutely fabulous birthday month.
