O, Christmas Tree
I did a guest blogpost over at Reading is Bliss the other day for their 25 Guests of Christmas and they're running giveaway contests, including signed copies of Such a Pretty Girl, Leftovers and my latest book How It Ends. Brand new, free, signed books make a great holiday gift, so...why not ?
We put up the tree last night. Again, the earliest I ever have but it was perfect timing as Charlie Brown Christmas was on, and that always makes me laugh and cry. It was fun night, with laughter, cookies and real, milk-in-pot cocoa. The cats played with ornaments, then immediately took over the treeskirt, the snow was just beginning to fall and the woodstove was keeping us toasty. And oh, the smell of fresh pine.
Yeah. I really do need to plant some pine trees this spring.
We have a good amount of snow up here today, plus now it's raining/sleeting which of course will freeze later and coupled with the high winds, wreak additional havoc.
Hope you're all tucked in snug, and enjoying the season.
