It's a snow day!

At first, the weatherpeople said this snow would be nothing more than passing flurries.

  Ha! Wrong.

So I ask you, what could be more irresistible than playing out in the snow during the holiday season? Especially when the woods' hush surrounds you, the snow keeps coming, and you have hot, steamy mugs of mocha cappucino cocoa with marshmallows waiting right there?

Nothing, that's what, and so being grown-ups gave way to the pleasure of kidstuff and even though the snow wasn't the packing kind, snowballs flew (notice my badly-aimed, minor league reject throw snowball missing its mark)

and his more accurately thrown one coming straight for me, except that I am a fleet-footed snowball dodger from way back.

Then we decided to make snow beings and I was so wretched at it that I finally decided I would make snow dumplings, as then it wouldn't matter what my globs of snow turned out looking like because dumplings are good no matter what. Well, that idea lasted only until I looked over and saw his masterpiece snow cat.

Inspired (and jealous), I decided to run my snow dumplings into something more definite and less lame. And here is what we ended up with (my little snow being is the one on the right):

And with arms uplifted, singing Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Hope your snow day is cozy and beautiful, too.
